Refund Policy & Acceptable Use
We keep this page clear so customers and partners understand our refund rules and acceptable use policy — written to be understandable, not legalistic.
Refund Policy
Refunds are available before an eSIM has been provisioned or activated. Once an eSIM QR code or activation details have been delivered, refunds are limited; after activation, refunds are generally limited to verified technical failures on our side.
When you get a full refund
You receive a full refund if any of these happen:
- Your QR code is never delivered. If you don't receive your activation QR code by email within 24 hours of purchase, contact service@driftvoy.com for a full refund.
- Your eSIM fails to activate. If you've installed the eSIM correctly (we'll help if you haven't) and it still doesn't activate within 48 hours of attempting to connect to a supported network, full refund.
- Service is unavailable in the country you bought it for. If the country shown on the plan was not actually covered at the time of your purchase, full refund.
When you don't get a refund
You won't receive a refund in these cases:
- After your eSIM has delivered AND activated. Once your eSIM has connected to a network and used any data, the purchase is final.
- Device compatibility. Customers are responsible for confirming their device supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked before purchase. An incompatible or locked device is not grounds for a refund once the QR code has been delivered.
- Partial data usage. If you used 4 GB of a 10 GB plan, we don't refund 60%. The plan is consumed.
- Change of travel plans. If your trip is cancelled or you decide not to go, we can't refund (we've already paid the upstream wholesale cost).
- Use exceeds 48 hours from purchase. Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of purchase or 24 hours of failed delivery.
- Account terminated for AUP violation. Plans terminated under our Acceptable Use Policy are not refunded.
How refunds work
- Refund window: 48 hours from purchase
- Method: Refunded to the original payment method
- Processing time: 5–10 business days after refund is initiated
- No fees: We don't charge processing fees on refunds
How to request a refund
Email service@driftvoy.com with:
- Your order number (in the purchase confirmation email)
- The reason for the refund request
- Your phone make and model (helps us diagnose activation issues)
We respond within 48 hours. If your refund qualifies, we process it the same day.
What you're buying — reseller disclosure
Driftvoy LLC is a reseller of eSIM data plans. We do not own or operate any telecommunications infrastructure. We purchase wholesale mobile data from licensed upstream connectivity providers and resell it under the Driftvoy brand.
This is standard for the travel eSIM industry — Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, and most other travel eSIM brands operate the same way. Each brand resells data from one or more wholesale providers.
What this means in practice:
- The network performance you experience comes from the underlying carrier (KDDI/Softbank in Japan, AIS/True in Thailand), not from Driftvoy.
- Driftvoy is responsible for selecting reliable upstream providers, processing your purchase, delivering your eSIM, and handling refunds and support.
- Driftvoy is not responsible for carrier outages, coverage gaps in remote areas, or temporary service interruptions at the carrier level.
Acceptable Use Policy
Driftvoy plans are for personal travel use.
Prohibited uses
You may not use Driftvoy plans for:
- Commercial reselling. Selling, sharing, or transferring Driftvoy eSIMs to third parties for profit.
- SIM farms or banks. Installing Driftvoy eSIMs on bulk hardware for automated use.
- Machine-to-machine (M2M) bulk usage. IoT device fleets, automated bots, scraping operations, or any non-human-driven usage at scale.
- API abuse (when applicable). Exceeding rate limits, attempting to circumvent them, or scraping our public site.
- Violation of upstream carrier policies. Each carrier has its own Acceptable Use Policy. By using Driftvoy, you agree to comply with the policies of the carriers your plan connects through. We may pass on enforcement actions from upstream carriers.
- Use in sanctioned countries. See below.
- Fraud or illegal activity. Identity theft, money laundering, hacking, or any other illegal use.
- Spam. Sending unsolicited bulk communications via your connection.
What happens if you violate the AUP
Fraud, payment-chargeback abuse, unauthorized resale, automated or machine-to-machine usage, or use in prohibited or sanctioned jurisdictions may result in suspension, cancellation, or refusal of service without refund.
If we detect or have reason to believe you've violated the AUP:
- We may suspend or terminate your account
- We may refuse to provision further plans for you
- We may withhold refunds on plans terminated for AUP violations
- We may report serious violations to upstream carriers or law enforcement
- We may be required to share your account information with upstream carriers as part of their own enforcement
