How Driftvoy works
From buying to activating — three steps, no setup tricks.
Driftvoy is pre-launch, so you can't buy a plan yet — join the waitlist and we'll email you when we go live in September 2026. Once we launch, the purchase and setup flow will work as follows.
The 3-step explanation
Step 1 — Pick your destination and plan
Choose Japan or Thailand. Pick the plan that matches your trip length and data needs. If you're not sure, our Japan guide and Thailand guide recommend plans based on real travel patterns.
We confirm your phone is eSIM-compatible before checkout. If it's not, you can't purchase — we don't sell a plan you can't use.
Step 2 — Receive your eSIM by email
After payment, you receive a QR code by email within 5 minutes. Open the email on a laptop or second device, then scan the QR code with the phone you're taking on your trip.

Label the new line ("Japan" or "Thailand") and set it as your Data line. Your home SIM keeps doing voice and texts on its own number.
We recommend installing at home before you fly. That way if anything goes wrong, you have wifi to troubleshoot.
Step 3 — Connect on arrival
Land. Turn off airplane mode. Your eSIM connects to a supported network automatically.
You're online at full carrier speed — no setup app to download, no QR to scan again, no waiting.
What about top-ups?
Running low? Top up from your account. The data and validity get added to your existing eSIM — no new QR, no reinstall.
You can top up the same eSIM up to 10 times. After 10 top-ups (typically 8–12 months of monthly use), we'll send you a new eSIM proactively before the limit hits.
What if something goes wrong?
Four common situations:
"I haven't received my QR code"
Check spam/promotions folder. Still missing after 1 hour? Email service@driftvoy.com. We resend within 12 hours; full refund if it's not delivered within 24 hours.
"My eSIM won't activate when I land"
Verify your data is set to use the new eSIM line (Settings → Cellular). Make sure you're outside airplane mode. If still nothing after 30 minutes, email service@driftvoy.com with your order number and we'll diagnose. Full refund if we can't fix it.
"I want to cancel"
If your eSIM hasn't activated yet, full refund within 48 hours of purchase. Once it activates, refunds aren't possible (we've already paid the upstream cost). See /legal.
"I'm out of data and need more"
Top up from your account — adds to your existing eSIM, no reinstall.
